Catalina Engagement Photos | Jamie + Chaz

Catalina holds a special place for Chaz and Jamie. Last year on Jamie’s birthday, Chaz surprised her with a helicopter ride to Catalina because she had never been before. Jamie, thinking that her birthday present was the trip itself, was completely shocked to see when the helicopter landed, their closest friends were there waiting for them. As soon as they landed, Chaz got down on one knee and proposed.

I hear a lot of engagement stories. and I would never ever say that one is better than the other. How could I? The act itself is such a special and memorable thing, regardless of how elaborate it is. But I will say that the amount of thought and preparation that Chaz put into it all showed me how much Jamie means to him.

We spent the entire day in Catalina, and things seemed to get real pretty quick. They had a rough morning and hit more traffic than expected and we ended up being minutes away from missing our boat. Then, on said boat, I proceeded to get pretty terrible motion sickness. But in spite of all of that, it never felt awkward. It felt like I was just hanging out with some of my really good friends.

Chaz, Jamie and I connected fast. It’s very rare that I get to spend all day with my clients, but I will say that I’m a fan of it. Between eating delicious Mexican food and drinking margaritas and Buffalo Milk, I realized that I am so thankful to do what I do. When I have wonderful clients who trust me completely and want to connect with me as much as I want to connect with them, we create magic.
