photojournalistic wedding photography // santa barbara courthouse // Mark and Mandy live in Boston, but decided they wanted to fly to the other side of the country to get married at the beautiful Santa Barbara Courthouse this summer. Their wedding day was gloomy, but that never worried them because they knew it meant beautiful light all day.
The two of them have a deep appreciation for art, and so it was important to them to incorporate little touches of creativity throughout their day. They branded their names on the pieces of wood that held the place cards and they 3D printed and then painted their cake toppers.
We had a couple hours in between the ceremony and reception where Mark and Mandy scheduled time to have photos taken around State Street in Santa Barbara. We found a cute little restaurant where the servers were overjoyed when they saw the bride and groom and treated them to tequila shots, on the house of course.
During the reception, Mark and Mandy walked out to do photos on the beach where we found some kind strangers having a bonfire. They gladly welcomed us into their party and offered Mark and Mandy beer and s’mores. I found out later that the kind strangers were related to past clients of mine, so that was a pretty cool coincidence.
Mark and Mandy’s unrelenting trust in me was so refreshing and inspiring. I cannot thank them enough.
