If I could describe Casey and Ryan’s YMCA Camp Campbell wedding last month in one word, it would be: unforgettable.
The two of them always knew that if they were to ever get married, it would be at a camp. The idea of their friends and family getting together and spending the entire weekend sleeping in cabins, bonding over campfires and spending time in the redwoods was their dream, and Camp Campbell in Boulder Creek was everything they had in mind.
Catrina and I were lucky enough to be invited to stay the entire weekend too and I have a little confession to make: before this, I had never been camping. I had never spent time in nature like this….and I totally understand the hype now. It was such an unbelievable feeling stepping outside of my cabin in the morning and seeing these beautiful trees and breathing the fresh air and not having to worry about checking my phone every 10 minutes.
I know Casey and Ryan’s friends and family felt the same way. Everyone spent the weekend enjoying the outdoors with archery, disc golf, and early morning yoga sessions. While a lot of the time, the hours leading up to the wedding can be overwhelming and stressful, everyone here seemed completely at peace. I can’t help but attribute that to our surroundings.
Thank you Casey, Ryan, and Mother Nature for such an incredible weekend. I will remember it forever.
